Staples tiger maple farm table is handmade entirely made tiger maple wood.  Even Stephen's hand turned Windsor style legs are made from tiger maple, a rare treat not found anywhere else to our knowledge.  Every surface of the table is hand planed across the grain leaving a hued, sculptured surface.  Staples' proprietary 11-step finishing process creates a deep, dark tiger and curly figure.  It is important to us that the legs are turned by hand with slight variances in form that can only be produced by the hand guided chisel and not a duplicating machine with its cookie-cutter results.

Our tiger maple farm table starts with the selection of the boards for the top. To begin with we just don't use any tiger maple, Stephen Staples hand selects the choicest pieces from the most select grade of wood in the area.  The top of the tiger maple farm table can be hand planed with the grain for a smoother texture or across the grain.  The cross grain hand planing gives the table tops a true sculpted appearance.  The curls and stripes in our tiger maple is unsurpassed for there pronounced depth and character.  This is due to Staples proprietary 11-step finishing procedure.  Stephen has worked closely with a finishing manufacturer to create a color that tiger maple turns naturally as it ages.

The hand turned legs are made of solid tiger maple, a specialty of Staples not found by many furniture makers.  Stephen purposely turns the legs without the use of calipers to allow a slight variation between each leg.  

You are welcome to order custom size rectangle tables as well as square tables.  It is also possible to order a rectangle or square table with center leaves or company boards that fit on the ends of the table.
