CUSTOM KITCHEN CENTER
ISLAND |

Our client came into our shop with her house
plans knowing that we custom build from reclaimed antique wood. She
sketched out her "dream kitchen island" with all her space and
storage requirements and we started to brain storm. After asking
her many questions, I learned her likes and dislikes so I could begin
to show her some of the fantastic antique wood, beams, beadboard
and hardware that I had salvaged through the years. I came up
with old beams from a barn for the main structure, the beadboard came from
the ceiling of a circa 1920 cottage, the drawer fronts came from old pine
flooring from a circa 1750 barn, the bottom floor of the island came from a
wall in a horse barn and the top came from two maple butcher block
style lab tables from an area high school.
